Our mission is to complement traditional learning by providing a global Internet-based forum for students to learn about and discuss challenging issues that divide communities and nations. ES has developed and tested educational materials that present balanced information and conflict resolution practices to prepare students to address divisive issues. University and high school students and their instructors engage in informed, civil dialogue on the ES Website and through videoconferencing.

At present, ES is developing three programs:

1) High School Dialogue on Klamath Basin Water Issues - Sharing the Klamath River Watershed: Bringing Together the Next Generation of Stakeholders.

2) University Dialogue on the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict - Understanding Both Sides. ES is currently recruiting faculty participants for 2008 and 2009. Click here for the ES paper on the 2006 Israeli/Palestinian University Pilot Dialogue

3) University Dialogue on Religion and Culture - Why Religions Leave the Middle Path

All projects use the same ES dialogue model and teach students to dialogue across community, cultural, and national barriers.
